Day 1 30 June 2013 Broome to
Goldwire rest area. 157km
Off to an early start this morning.
Somewhat caotic begining as we all sorted out our belongings, packed
then away and worked out which of the many vehicles we were to place our
baggage. Eventually left Broome
behind. Unfortunately as Broome is at
the southern end of a short peninsular that juts into the Indian ocean we had
to ride north then east for about 60km before we could ride south towards
Perth. This would have been nothing more
than a mild inconvenience is it wasn't for a very strong north-easterly blowing
all morning. Hence the first half of the day was rather
difficult, tiring out legs way to early.
Not the best start. The up side
for the day however was that the same north easterly gave us great riding for
the afternoon. The ride was at
least _______f______l_______a___ __t_____ .
I am sitting in my tent at the moment typing this blog (yes we are camping). I
don't expect this to be posted for a couple of day as the
phone service drops in and out at the moment.
We are in the middle of no-where and tomorrow we travel a another 166km
further into the middle of no-where. Not much to
see, just endless miles of low scrub.
Dinner was cooked on a wood fired makeshift BBQ in the dark. Chicken, lamb chops, steak and sausages. Very
very nice indeed. Well done to the guys
and girls who cooked. Like all B4B
rided I am not expecting to lose weight.
Camping at Goldwire rest area
The Navara and trailer.
Up again at 5.45am tomorrow.
